The Smokies at Sunset

I love the sunsets in the Smokies, the sky is almost always colorful at this time of the day. On this particular day we were driving back from the North Carolina side of the Smokies when we saw this sunset happening. I had to quickly find a overlook and pull over to get this shot. I have another sunset photo that I took while we were in the heart of the National Park near Clingman's Dome. I will look for it and post it some time for you to see. The only thing that is better than the sunsets are the sunrises. I don't have any sunrise images as I would have to get up early for them. I know, I know a real photographer wouldn't care about the time but hey, I was on vacation o.k. so leave me alone. I will get there someday and get up early and get me some sunrise photos, really, I will. As I was saying the sunrises there are amazing with the smoke and mist rising amongst the trees back lit by the sun it's beautiful. The sunsets as you can see above are usually more colorful than the sunrises but they are both beautiful sites to behold. If you have never been to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park I highly recommend it. It is a beautiful part of the U.S. where you have the opportunity to view beautiful scenery as well as wildlife that you cannot see in Ohio.
